Day 1: Luang Prabang arrival (D, G)
Arriving in Luang Prabang International Airport, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel. Luang Prabang is perhaps the best-preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia. The tranquility and charm of this town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos. In the evening, you’ll stroll around the city’s Night Market offering handmade textiles woven by local people and ethnic minority communities. You will spend the night in Luang Prabang.

Day 2: Luang Prabang city (B, L, G)
After breakfast, you will enjoy a guided-tour seeing the city’s oldest temple of Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture. You will then visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun. In the late afternoon, you will climb up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a panoramic view of the city at sunset and the Mekong River. The rest of the day will be free to wander around the ancient street or just relax with a Laos’s beer along the Nam Khan River. You will spend the nigh in Luang Prabang.

Day 3: Luang Prabang/Laos Spirit resort (B, DP)
After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will show you the National Museum (close Tuesday) at the former Royal Palace, which displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early Kings right through the last sovereign. You will also go around the Central Market which is famous for silver jewelry. After visiting these sites, you will be back to your hotel to check out and drive to the Laos Spirit resort which is 15 km away from the city centre in the middle of unspoiled, natural green surroundings. The rest of the day will be free to wander around the resort. You will spend the night at Laos Spirit resort.

Day 4: Luang Prabang/Lao Spirit Adventure (Elephant + rafting) (B, L, D, G)
This is a full day trip combining a rafting tour with some sightseeing and an exciting elephant ride to/from Tad Sae Waterfall (or alternative route in dry season). Start from the Adventure and Elephant camp, you will cross a small river, you will be introduced to our Asian Elephants and venture on a 1hr – 1hr 30 minutes enchanting journey through forests, plantations and fields. This activity programme provides you with a breathtaking and unique experience as you make your way through forests and along the Nam Khan River up to the waterfalls of Tad Sae. After visiting the waterfall, lunch is served before a relaxing 30-minute rafting tour along the river back to the resort. The evening is free at your leisure. Your overnight will be at Lao Spirit Resort.

Day 5: Lao Spirit Resort/Luang Prabang/Pakse/Champasak/King Fisher Ecolodge (B, D, DP)
After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Luang Prabang town and then to the airport for a noon flight to Pakse. On arrival, you’ll be driven on the National Road No. 13th south to Champasak then to the King Fisher Ecolodge, a spacious bungalow-style lodge with an open-air restaurant overlooking the Pha Po wetland in Xe Pian National Protected Area. You will spend the night at the King Fisher Ecolodge.

Day 6: Elephant riding in Phou Asa (B, L, D, G)
Today you’ll learn to ride an elephant at the Elephant Riders School in Laos. The minimum length of the training course is four hours in one day, two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon. During the first two hours you will learn the basics controls and, if the trainer considers your skills appropriate, in the afternoon you will ride the elephant up to Phou Asa Mountain. Alternatively, you can choose just to ride an elephant around the wetland or to Phou Asa. Your overnight accommodation will be at the Kingfisher Ecolodge.

Day 7: King Fisher Ecolodge free (B)
Your time will be on your own!

Day 8: King Fisher Ecolodge/Don Khone Island (B, L, D, G)
Today, you will visit the famous waterfalls of Khone Phapeng, thebiggest waterfall in the South East Asia. After that, you’ll be driven to a local port and take 20 minutes boat trip to Done Khone where you will spend the night.

Day 9: Don Khone Island surrounding (B, L, D, G)
Early morning breakfast, you will explore the local villages of Ban Khone, where the old French colonial buildings and its retrace the old colonial past with seeing the first Lao railway with its locomotive. You will then visit the beautiful Liphi waterfall, known as the Samphamith. With lucks, you may see the rare freshwater Irrawaddy Mekong dolphin at Ban Hang Khone. Your overnight accommodation will be in Don Khone Island.

Day 10: Done Khone Island/Pakse departure (B, L, G)
In the morning, you’ll take a boat trip back to the main land. Arriving in the main land, you’ll find a car and driver waiting to take you back to Pakse for your departure flight. Tour ends.
